EXETER CHEIFS VS GLOUCESTER RUGBY
Laidlaw hit 2 penalties for Gloucester before Dollman burst through. He then offloaded to Waldrom who dropped the chance for the first try and the half time whistle was blown and Gloucester led. It is the first time Exeter have been scoreless at halftime since 2012.
HALF TIME EXETER CHIEFS 0 – 6 GLOUCESTER RUGBY
Billy Twelvetrees hit a monster drop goal from 43 metres to Gloucester a 9-0 lead. Exeter replied when Chudley gave Steenson the ball. Gareth Steenson dummied but was brought down. Nowell recycled and burst out the tackle of Morgan and sped away to the line. Steenson converted and the Cheifs were only 1 point out. They then scored again 2 minutes later when Twelvetrees’s pass was picked off by Matt Jess who scampered away from Sharples and scored a converted try. There was another score on 52 minutes but this time for Gloucester. Tom Savage charged down Steenson’s kick, controlled the bobbling ball and scored. Savage was involved in the next try as his pick and go set Ben Morgan up. He recycled quickly and drove over the line. Waldron was soon celebrating his ninth try of the season when he spun in the tackle and flopped over the line. The pressure was on when Steenson took the conversion and that pressure showed. The ball came back off the post and and Exeter lost to a Gloucester side struggling this season.
