WALES vs ENGLAND
FRIDAY 6th FEBRUARY 2015
England stayed in the tunnel waiting for Wales to come out just to add to the tension and atmosphere! It was set to be a sensational match! Leigh Halfpenny slotted a penalty before Rhys Webb scored. Taulupe Faletau was not spotted for putting his hands in the scrum and offloaded to Webb who went round the outside of Jonny May and dived over. The next try came for England on 14 minutes. Ben Youngs drove the ball into contact. Then Robshaw flicked a wild pass out to Burrell who gave the ball quickly to Brown. Mike Brown grubbered through and Anthony Watson produced a sensational pick up and finished off a fabulous score. Jerome Garces was not sure and called for TMO but there was no problem and the try was awarded. Halfpenny exchanged a penalty with George Ford before Dan Biggar sat back in the pocket and hit a wonderful drop goal on the stroke of half time.
HALF TIME WALES 16 – 8 ENGLAND
England scored 4 minutes into the second half. Jonathan Joseph wriggled out of the tackles of George North and Rhys Webb and danced away for a fabulous solo try. After England won a lineout, Haskell broke through. It looked to have been a try but as he drove his way towards the line he hammered into the post! Wales had 16 men on the field! Despite the disallowed try, England had the advantage so Ford had a chance to give England a lead. The referee also handed Alex Cuthbert a yellow card for illegal rucking. George Ford slotted the kick to give England the lead. When Dave Attwood battered over the whitewash England looked to have sealed the victory however, Garces came back and used TMO. Nick Easter overran the dummy move and was penalised so the try was disallowed. Billy Twelvetrees made immediate impact winning a penalty to seal the win. George Ford hit the resulting penalty to send the management berserk!!!
