Transfer Rumours – 2

Former Bath Director of Rugby, Gary Gold, is Worcester Warriors bound. He was seen at Sixways on Friday, probaly just finishing off the deal.

Leicester are keen on signing Maxime Mermoz for the last half of the season before he moves to Newcastle Falcons. The Tigers have been struggling in the centre with Manu Tuilagi and Matt Toomua out injured, so it seems they need to bring in some strength to last until the end of the season. The French international is going to Newcastle from Toulon next season but it seems he will be moving to England earlier than expected, on line to Leicester.

The Tigers are also on the search for a new Directer of Rugby after losing Richard Cockerill to Toulon. They have their eyes on Montpellier’s Jake White. White has coached South Africa and was one of thecandidates for the England job before Eddie Jones took the reigns.

Glen Ella, who was England skills coach on the summer to down under, looks like he will be coming to the Premiership. The former Australian player has caught the attention of Northampton Saints. The Saints are sitting alot lower in the table than they would like and need to sharpen up their attack.

Exeter Chiefs are looking to add even more strength to their back row with Glasgow Warriors Josh Strauss. The South African has been capped 9 times for Scotland and has been hitting high form at the moment in a high performing Glasgow squad. His contract is up at the end of the season and he attracted attention from Bristol however, he will only go there if they keep their place in the highest divison of English rugby. The Chiefs seem keen to sign Strauss despite just signing Matt Kvesic from Gloucester.
